Remember the Fallen

Twelve years ago today the nation lost six firefighters to a tragic fire in a cold storage warehouse in Worcester Massachusetts. On December 3rd 1999, six firefighters, LT. Jeremiah Lucey, LT. Thomas Spencer, FF. Timothy Jackson, FF. James Lyons, FF. Joseph McGuirk and FF. Paul Brotherton were all killed in the line of duty while battling a 4 alarm fire in a cold storage warehouse at 266 Franklin Street. While on scene of the 6 story building firefighters were getting reports that there were squatters still in the building. Crews began searching for the victims. There were no windows or doors within 150ft of them therefore causing them to become overwhelmed with heat, zero visibility, and low air. All six perished in this fire which is still the largest amount of firefighters lost on the job at one time in Worcester Massachusetts. Please take the time to keep these brothers and their family in your prayers and thoughts.
