Firefighter Survival & RIT Concepts

Mayday Movements
The fireground is a very dynamic place and in seconds, things can shift on us very quickly. Our ability to be able to identify what's about to happen, or what's happening, react to the circumstance, and execute a safe self-extrication procedure only comes from good training. Our training must be in the form of understanding basic movements and being able to call a mayday and execute a safe maneuver. This class focuses on giving students the repetitions needed to practice three of the most important traits of self-survival after calling a mayday:
-Calling a mayday on the radio
-Remaining Calm
-Executing an escape tactic (window hang, ladder bail, or deploying PES (personal escape system)
FF. Self Extrications & Survival Techniques
This class offers an extensive firefighter safety & survival (bailout) class that is designed to train the firefighters or fire instructors on how to properly and safely bailout of a structure, should the need occur. This program is taught by instructors who are well trained in survival and extrication techniques. This class is a physically and mentally demanding class, which requires 100% health and full PPE & SCBA.
Dynamic RIT Operations
There is a lot that can be done to help a mayday firefighter, but there is also a lot that can be done to prevent a firefighter from calling a mayday as well. This class focuses on the pre/post mayday incident. During this intense program instructors cover the RIT "need-to-knows" the RIT "don'ts" and also draw on some personal experiences where rapid intervention teams were deployed.
